Yes, I'm a trekkie but this movie was SOOOOO GOOD, even for people who don't adore Star Trek like me! The cinematography, special effects and soundtrack was absolutely stunning. They really created a sense of the unbelievable size of the universe. One of my favorite scenes was when Sulu and Kirk were parachuting on to the drill platform and all you could hear was their breathing. All of the characters were well played and really embodied the originals. Bones, Kirk, and Spock were particularly amazing but Chekov, Sulu, Uhura, and Scotty were all still great! The storyline was well written and I liked the direction they took it… the alternate reality makes it possible to continue to make more movies without conflicting with the originals. A mere prequel would’ve ended up like Star Wars did… totally stupid.
